Seattle's oldest active theater, an 1,800-seat performing arts venue two blocks from Pike Place Market at 2nd Avenue and Virginia Street. Opened in 1907, it has long hosted theatrical productions, concerts and lectures. Today it is run by the Seattle Theatre Group, which also operates the larger Paramount and the Neptune Theatre. Gillian Welch & David Rawlings are an American Americana duo based in Nashville, pairing Welch's songwriting and voice with Rawlings's intricate acoustic guitar and close harmonies.
