The Grand Social opened in the autumn of 2010 at 35 Liffey St. Lower in Dublin's north city, looking out on the Ha'penny Bridge. Besides the venue there is a ground-floor Ballroom used for pre-gig drinks, Drink and Draw evenings and weekend club nights, and a rooftop beer garden with a retractable roof and its own cocktail bar. Primal Scream, Django Django, Jake Bugg, Loyle Carner, Pale Waves, The Academic and Damien Dempsey have all played, and its tech team has been nominated for the IMRO Tech Team of the Year. Freak Slug is an alternative act.
