A 1936 National Guard armory in downtown Minneapolis, built by the Public Works Administration and on the National Register of Historic Places. It housed the Minneapolis Lakers before the NBA left town, sat through decades of other uses, and is now one of the city's biggest and most striking rooms. Foster the People are a Los Angeles indie-pop band whose 2010 debut single Pumped Up Kicks became one of the decade's defining crossover hits.
