A 16,500-capacity amphitheatre in The Woodlands, on Houston's northern edge — known locally as simply 'The Pavilion'. Run as a non-profit by The Center for the Performing Arts at The Woodlands, it splits its summer between touring rock and pop and its own performing-arts season. Empire of the Sun is Luke Steele (once of The Sleepy Jackson) and Nick Littlemore (of PNAU), who met in Sydney and in 2008 released Walking on a Dream, the record whose title track became one of the most-played Australian songs of its era.
