A 9,525-seat amphitheatre carved between two 300-foot sandstone monoliths outside Denver, opened in 1941 and considered by many artists the greatest venue on earth. U2's Under a Blood Red Sky and the annual Film on the Rocks are part of its legend. Empire of the Sun is Luke Steele (once of The Sleepy Jackson) and Nick Littlemore (of PNAU), who met in Sydney and in 2008 released Walking on a Dream, the record whose title track became one of the most-played Australian songs of its era.
