A lavish performing-arts palace at 2211 Woodward Avenue in Downtown Detroit, opened in 1928 as a flagship of the Fox Theatres chain and designed by architect C. Howard Crane. With 5,048 seats it is the largest surviving 1920s movie palace, a National Historic Landmark that lends its name to the surrounding Foxtown district and now hosts major concerts and shows. Ella Mai is a South London R&B singer whose slow-burn hit Boo'd Up won the 2019 Grammy for Best R&B Song.
