The Paradise Rock Club is a 933-capacity general-admission music venue on Commonwealth Avenue beside Boston University, opened in 1977 as the Paradise Theater. One of Boston's storied small rooms and operated by Crossroads Presents, it has hosted early US shows by the likes of U2 and Phish. Elder are an American rock band from Massachusetts — frontman and lead guitarist Nick DiSalvo, bassist Jack Donovan, guitarist and keyboardist Michael Risberg and drummer Georg Edert.

It has sat on the edge of Boston University's campus since 22 September 1977, when it opened as the Paradise Theater. Phish's first big Boston show sold it out in January 1989, leaving a couple of hundred people on the pavement outside.
