Bath Forum, known locally as The Forum, is a 1,640-capacity Art Deco venue on St James's Parade in central Bath. It opened in 1934 as the last Super Cinema of its kind to be built, designed by the architect A. S. Gray, and is listed Grade II*. The Bath Christian Trust bought the building in 1988; its Life Church Bath congregation meets there every Sunday, and the rest of the week it stages concerts and touring shows. David Essex is an English pop icon of the 70s whose Rock On and Hold Me Close made him a teen idol, alongside a long stage and screen career.
