A 27,500-cap amphitheatre on a cliff above the Columbia River in Washington state, with a canyon sunset behind the stage that makes it America's most spectacular outdoor venue. Dave Matthews Band built one of live music's great institutions from Charlottesville, Virginia — a jazz-flecked jam-rock outfit whose Under the Table and Dreaming (1994) and Crash made them America's biggest touring band of the late '90s.
