A 9,525-seat amphitheatre carved between two 300-foot sandstone monoliths outside Denver, opened in 1941 and considered by many artists the greatest venue on earth. U2's Under a Blood Red Sky and the annual Film on the Rocks are part of its legend. Coheed and Cambria are a New York prog-rock band whose sci-fi concept albums in The Amory Wars saga, sung in Claudio Sanchez's soaring falsetto, built a comic-con-sized cult.
