The Palace Theatre is a historic venue on Stephen Avenue (8th Avenue SW) in downtown Calgary, Alberta, that opened in the early 1920s as a vaudeville and cinema house. It now operates as a live-music and events venue and nightclub. Cat Power is Chan Marshall, the Atlanta-born songwriter whose smoky, unguarded records — from Moon Pix to The Greatest and her Dylan '66 concert recreation — made her an indie icon.
