The Opera House is a 1,381-seat heritage theatre on Manners Street in central Wellington, New Zealand, opened on 12 April 1914. A Category 1 Historic Place noted for its ornate plasterwork and domed auditorium, it hosts concerts, musicals and touring performers. Cat Power is Chan Marshall, the Atlanta-born songwriter whose smoky, unguarded records — from Moon Pix to The Greatest and her Dylan '66 concert recreation — made her an indie icon.
