A 1938 art-house cinema turned East Vancouver cultural hub — 409 seats, a balcony, and a community that has repeatedly fought (and won) public battles to save it. Films by night, gigs and multidisciplinary art whenever the screen goes dark. Cake are an American rock band from Sacramento, California, fronted by John McCrea with trumpeter Vince DiFiore — the two constants through many line-up changes.
