A 1913 working men's club in Hyde Park, Leeds, reborn as one of Britain's best-loved independent venues. Still a social enterprise with its community-club soul intact, its two 400-cap rooms host everyone from cult heroes to arena acts playing secret shows. Butcher Brown are a Richmond, Virginia quintet fusing jazz, funk and hip-hop into a loose, groove-heavy live show that has backed everyone from DJ Premier to Kamasi Washington's circles.
