A 73,000-square-foot performing arts venue in Clearwater, Florida, in the Tampa Bay area, part of the Richard B. Baumgardner Center for the Performing Arts. Named after Ruth Eckerd, wife of businessman Jack Eckerd, its 2,180-seat auditorium uses continental seating with no center aisle. A regular home for the Florida Orchestra, it also draws touring concerts. Buddy Guy is a Louisiana-born Chicago blues titan whose slashing guitar influenced Hendrix and Clapton; an eight-time Grammy winner still touring in his 90s.
