The Mother Church of Country Music: an 1892 gospel tabernacle whose pews and legendary acoustics hosted the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974. Playing the Ryman — and stepping into its circle of worn wood — is country music's holiest rite. Bloc Party are a London indie-rock band led by Kele Okereke whose wiry, urgent debut Silent Alarm defined mid-2000s British guitar music.
