A 1928 movie palace at Flatbush and DeKalb that put on jazz, blues and early rock and roll, closed in 1962, and spent the next six decades as Long Island University's basketball court. Restoration began in 2017 and it reopened as a venue in 2024. Audrey Hobert is a Los Angeles singer-songwriter who co-wrote much of Gracie Abrams' The Secret of Us before launching her own wry pop career with the single Sue Me.
