An events and live-music venue in Tampa's historic Ybor City, originally opened in 1917 as the Rivoli Theatre serving the neighbourhood's Afro-Cuban community. Over the decades it worked as a cinema, adult movie house, nightclub and concert space before a 2008 transformation into its current form as one of Tampa's leading spots for gigs and events. American Football are an Illinois emo band whose 1999 self-titled debut, led by Mike Kinsella, became one of the most influential cult records in indie rock decades after its release.
