S.O.B.'s — short for Sounds of Brazil — is a live-music club at 204 Varick Street in the Hudson Square area of Manhattan, founded in 1982. It built its reputation as one of New York's leading stages for Latin, Brazilian, Caribbean, African and hip-hop music. Amaury Gutiérrez is a Cuban singer-songwriter, born in Santa Clara in 1963, known for a self-described 'Cuban pop' style drawing on trova, bolero and Latin rhythms.
