A mostly outdoor music venue in Highland Park, Illinois, Ravinia Festival runs a wide-ranging summer season from June to September, spanning classical to pop. The New York Philharmonic played the first concert here in 1905, and it has been the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1936.
