A historic theater at 620 T Street NW in Washington, D.C., open since 1910 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Billed as the "Theater of the People," it was a cornerstone for African-American audiences and the great Black artists of the early-to-mid 20th century. After a major restoration, it reopened in 2012 with headliners including Chaka Khan. Aldous Harding is a New Zealand folk artist from Lyttelton whose spellbinding, shape-shifting performances and albums like Party and Designer earned international acclaim on 4AD.
