Ziyad Al-Samman is a London-based Syrian-British artist whose music blends psychedelic pop, indie-disco and glam — whimsical, magnetic and, by his promoter's account, impossible to pin down. His debut album ELASTIC marks a darker, sharper turn, packed with distorted textures, warped hooks, live instrumentation and raw emotion. He has given standout performances at Trans Musicales, the Montreux Jazz Festival, The Great Escape and KEXP. Earmilk heard "a raw danceability… music that should be fun".
