Violent Femmes are an American folk-punk band formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1980 by Gordon Gano, Brian Ritchie and Victor DeLorenzo. Their 1983 self-titled debut — home to 'Blister in the Sun,' 'Kiss Off' and 'Add It Up' — became a slow-burning classic, eventually certified platinum despite never charting on release.
