Trevor Noah

Trevor Noah is a South African comedian, writer and television host, and one of the most globally successful entertainers to come out of the country. Born in Johannesburg in 1984 to a Black Xhosa mother and a white Swiss father — a relationship illegal under apartheid — he rose through the local comedy scene before breaking internationally. From 2015 to 2022 he hosted The Daily Show on Comedy Central, becoming a leading voice in American late-night television, and his best-selling memoir Born a Crime is widely acclaimed for its sharp, funny account of growing up during and after apartheid. As a stand-up he sells out arenas worldwide with observational comedy on race, language and identity, and remains one of the biggest touring comedians on the planet.
