Tollie Parton

Tollie Parton is the Afrikaans drag and stand-up comedy persona of South African performer Wynand Kotze, a Stellenbosch University alumnus. Inspired by country icon Dolly Parton (with 'Tollie' an Afrikaans innuendo), the character emerged from Kotze's TikTok account during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, blending comedy, theatre, political satire and LGBTQI+ themes. Kotze began touring South Africa around 2021, performing roughly 60-minute drag comedy shows featuring Dolly Parton and Adele songs, including the show 'Hoofseun'. Tollie Parton also co-hosts the Showmax talk show 'Die Tollie & Manila Show' with Manila von Teez.
