The Sly are an indie and post-punk band led from behind the kit by Levon Gill, who sings while he drums. His father was Craig Gill, the late Inspiral Carpets drummer, so the surname arrives with some history attached. They get billed on the pairing of danceable grooves with jagged, zig-zag guitar riffs, a combination that puts the rhythm section at the front of the sound rather than underneath it.
