The Scullery Quintet write and perform original compositions that deliberately challenge the boundaries between genres, aiming at something immersive rather than merely played. That work has been recognised twice over: two Momentum Aardklop Awards in 2025, for most innovative work and best music-driven performance, then two wins at the 2026 kykNET Fiësta Awards, for best music production and best performance in classical music, alongside nominations from the Toyota Stellenbosch Woordfees and the KKNK. The line-up is Hana Yim-Wahl and Waldo Alexander on violin, Tiisetso Mashishi on viola, Viwe Mkizwana on bass and Peter Auret on drums.
