The Saw Doctors are an Irish folk-rock band formed in Tuam, County Galway, in 1986 around songwriters Leo Moran and Davy Carton. Their good-humoured, small-town songs made them one of Ireland's most popular live acts: 1990's "I Useta Lover" spent nine weeks at number one and became Ireland's all-time best-selling single, and their 1991 debut album entered the Irish chart at number one. Across their career they racked up eighteen Irish Top 30 singles, three of them chart-toppers, and collected a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2008 Meteor Ireland Music Awards. Renowned for dynamic, rowdy performances, they have toured relentlessly and played major festivals including Glastonbury and Oxegen, cementing a devoted following at home and among the Irish diaspora.
