The Marshall Tucker Band

The Marshall Tucker Band are an American Southern rock band formed in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in 1972. Blending blues, country, rock and jazz into an eclectic sound, they helped define the Southern rock movement of the early 1970s, releasing their gold-certified debut album on Capricorn Records in 1973. Their best-known song, "Can't You See," became a genre standard, while "Heard It in a Love Song" reached number 14 on the pop chart and the platinum album Carolina Dreams (1977) marked their commercial peak. Founding vocalist Doug Gray remains the group's constant through decades of touring. Renowned as a hard-working live act that once played hundreds of shows a year, the band still performs regularly, keeping its catalogue of Southern rock staples on the road.
