The Amazons are a British rock band from Reading, Berkshire, formed in 2014 and originally called Peers, fronted by Matt Thomson on vocals and guitar alongside guitarist Chris Alderton and bassist Elliot Briggs. Signed to Fiction Records, they blend indie, hard and psychedelic rock into big, melodic anthems. Their self-titled 2017 debut reached number 8 on the UK Albums Chart, and 2019's Future Dust followed at number 9, before 2022's How Will I Know If Heaven Will Find Me? gave them their highest placing at number 5; 21st Century Fiction arrived in 2025. Early on they featured on the BBC Sound of 2017 and MTV Brand New longlists. Known for arena-scaled choruses, the band have grown into a reliably powerful live act.
