Taylor Bennett is an American rapper from the West Chatham neighborhood of Chicago, born in 1996. Working in alternative hip-hop, he is the younger brother of Chance the Rapper, who encouraged him to build his own following before the two collaborated on the track 'Broad Shoulders.' Bennett released the album Broad Shoulders in 2015, followed by Restoration of an American Idol (2017) and Be Yourself (2018), alongside a string of mixtapes and EPs. He cites Twista, Nas and Kendrick Lamar among his influences. In January 2017 he came out as bisexual, becoming a visible LGBTQ+ figure in hip-hop. He honed his craft on Chicago stages and opened for Nas at a Lollapalooza afterparty in 2014.
