Tamar Estine Braxton, born on 17 March 1977, is an American singer, songwriter, actress and television personality who began in 1990 as a founding member of The Braxtons, the R&B group she formed with her sisters. The trio released So Many Ways in 1996 and split soon after, and her own debut album came out through DreamWorks Records in 2000. After thirteen years away she returned with Love and War in 2013, which reached number two on the Billboard 200, and followed it with Calling All Lovers and Bluebird of Happiness. She has won a BET Award and three Soul Train Music Awards.
