Slow Accordion

Slow Accordion is an instrumental, improvised quartet from Nashville: guitarist Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers, bass player Ted Pecchio (Colonel Bruce Hampton, Doyle Bramhall), drummer Mark Raudabaugh (Sierra Hull, Jim Lauderdale, Fred Wesley) and Matt Glassmeyer, from the New York and Nashville improvised scenes, on his own Wurlitzer (Meadownoise, Lambchop, Billy Martin). Their first album, on Royal Potato Family Records, is a seven-track collection that was completely improvised and recorded analog — right down to the tape running out halfway through the closing track. The four friends came together with no preconceived ideas, to make music purely in the present moment, and, as their own billing admits, no accordions will be heard.
