Rodrigo y Gabriela are Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero, a Mexican acoustic guitar duo who live in Mexico City but spent the first eight years of their career together in Dublin. Their instrumental flamenco-guitar duets draw on rock and heavy metal as readily as on nuevo flamenco, which is why they turn up on bills where two acoustic guitars have no business being. Mettavolution won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, and In Between Thoughts…A New World followed in April 2023. They have played Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and the White House for President Barack Obama.
