Robin Miriam Carlsson records as Robyn: a Swedish singer, songwriter, record producer and DJ noted for upbeat dance-oriented songs that carry melancholic lyrics — The Guardian has called her the “stateswoman of alt-pop”. Her 1995 debut Robyn Is Here produced two Billboard Hot 100 top-10 singles. After forming her own label, Konichiwa Records, she returned to international success with Robyn in 2005 and the Body Talk trilogy in 2010, whose sleeper hit “Dancing On My Own” is often credited as her signature song and rejuvenated her career. Honey followed in 2018 and, after an eight-year hiatus, Sexistential in 2026.
