About
Robin Morton Auld is a South African singer-songwriter, guitarist, poet and writer who has released twenty albums alongside a novel and a poetry collection. Born in Lusaka in 1959 to Scots parents, he moved to Cape Town with his mother and brother in 1970, settled in the False Bay area and went to school in Fish Hoek. He learned the guitar by listening to Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Ry Cooder and Neil Young, and started out as a sideman in the anti-establishment Lancaster Band. Warner Brothers South Africa released his first solo album, At the Corner, in 1982, and Love Kills won him a SAMA in 1992. His novel Tight Lines followed in 2000 and the poetry collection Kelp in 2006.
