Reverend and the Makers are an English rock band from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, fronted by Jon McClure, nicknamed "The Reverend". Their debut album The State of Things (2007) brought them success in Britain and the UK top 10 single "Heavyweight Champion of the World", and its follow-up A French Kiss in the Chaos (2009) earned them a support slot on Oasis's final tour of that era, at venues including Wembley Stadium. ThirtyTwo (2014) leaned into electronic and dance influences; Mirrors (2015) and The Death of a King (2017) followed. The soul and R&B inflected Heatwave in the Cold North gave them their first UK top 10 album in sixteen years in 2023.
