RAAF are Lourens and Esté, who began in 2010 as the Bottomless Coffee Band: two university students, and a band started in Lourens's residence room. In 2022, at the Toyota Stellenbosch Woordfees, they marked a full-circle moment by changing the name to RAAF, the meaning of their surname. Their show Van toe tot nou goes back to where it all began, trading on the energy and the nostalgia of everything in between, for an audience that reckons the good old days are now.
