Quiet Houses are an indie-folk duo made up of Hannah Elliott and Jamie Stewart, born in Edinburgh and based in Manchester. Their dreamy, shoegaze-tinged sound pairs Elliott's vocals, violin and keyboards with Stewart's intricate guitar work. The pair released their debut EP Big Town in December 2021, its singles including "B-List," named a BBC Radio Scotland track of the week, and "Cold Water Swimming," which featured on a Spotify playlist. A full-length album followed in January 2023. Citing influences ranging from The Blue Nile's Paul Buchanan to John Prine, the duo craft an escapist, romantic indie-pop that has earned steady support from Scottish radio. On stage they lean into that intimacy, performing their atmospheric songs in small rooms around the UK.
