About

Quentin Prinsloo is an Afrikaans singer and songwriter from Pretoria who has been performing since 1999. He started singing professionally at 15 and, by his own account, was one of the first Afrikaans singers to land a record deal while still at high school. From 2003 to 2017 he was signed to Sting Musiek, with distribution through Universal, and released five albums and a live DVD on the label: the debut Sê Dit Weer!, In Hart & Siel, Jy die Heeltyd, Reën Oor My and Suurstof, plus Quentin Prinsloo LIVE @ the Barnyard Theatre. In 2017 he went independent and set up qp Management to run his career. He has since released singles through Ditto Music, among them Jy is die Een, My Belofte, Witperd and Platteland (2025), a celebration of South Africa's countryside inspired by the Kruger National Park and written by Nick Jordaan. He describes his music as Afrikaans pop with contemporary sounds and light rock. He took part in the first South African Idols, has sung at Loftus Versfeld, Ellis Park and GrandWest, and has played the KKNK, Aardklop and Innibos festivals. He now lives in Yzerfontein on the West Coast.
