Pure Reason Revolution are a British rock band that formed at the University of Westminster in 2003, growing out of an earlier Reading-based project. Led by Jon Courtney, they pair layered vocal harmonies with progressive rock and electronic textures. Their debut album The Dark Third arrived in 2006, followed by Amor Vincit Omnia (2009) and Hammer and Anvil (2010) before the band went on hiatus in 2011. They reunited in 2019 and have since released Eupnea (2020), Above Cirrus (2022) and Coming Up to Consciousness (2024). Longtime member Chloë Alper departed in 2023, with new players joining the following year. Regular tourers across Europe and North America, they built their reputation on the sweep and detail of their live sound.
