Pulp are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 1978 and led by the wry, theatrical frontman Jarvis Cocker, alongside Candida Doyle, Nick Banks and Mark Webber. After years on the margins they became one of Britpop's defining acts with 1995's Different Class, which won the Mercury Prize and topped the UK chart on the strength of 'Common People', a number-two single that earned an Ivor Novello Award. Follow-up This Is Hardcore (1998) sharpened their darker edge, and the band have sold over ten million records. Celebrated live performers who twice headlined Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage, Pulp returned with the number-one album More in 2025 and a reunion tour that drew overwhelmingly positive reviews.
