Pete & Bas are a British hip hop duo from London, comprising Peter Bowditch and Basil Bellgrave, both in their seventies. Formed in 2017, they upend expectations of UK drill and grime, rapping with deadpan swagger over gritty beats. Their breakout single "Shut Ya Mouth" became a viral sensation, and later tracks such as "The Old Estate" with M24 and "Dents in a Peugeot" cemented an unlikely but devoted following of over a million on social media. Their debut album Mugshot arrived in 2024. Far from a novelty confined to YouTube, the pair have toured concert stages across major European cities, where their sharp-suited, straight-faced delivery and improbable energy have turned them into a genuine live draw.
