About
Paula Dorothy Cole, born on 5 April 1968, is an American singer and songwriter who first drew attention singing on Peter Gabriel's Secret World Tour. Her debut, Harbinger, was undone when its label folded; her second, This Fire, brought worldwide acclaim in 1996 and two hits — the triple-Grammy-nominated "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" and "I Don't Want to Wait", which became the theme to Dawson's Creek. She headlined Lilith Fair in 1997 and 1998, won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, and became the first woman nominated for Producer of the Year without a male collaborator. She has taught at Berklee College of Music since 2013.
