Papa Roach are an American rock band formed in Vacaville, California, in 1993, when singer Jacoby Shaddix and drummer Dave Buckner met at their high-school football field. Alongside guitarist Jerry Horton and bassist Tobin Esperance, they broke through with 2000's Infest and its signature single 'Last Resort,' which topped the Alternative Songs chart and reached six-times platinum. Their sound has moved across nu metal, rap metal and hard rock over albums such as Lovehatetragedy and Getting Away with Murder. The band won a Kerrang! Award for Best International Live Act in 2001 and iHeartRadio's Rock Artist of the Year in 2023. Festival veterans of Ozzfest and Warped Tour, Papa Roach are known for high-energy live shows.
