Nurse John

Nurse John is the stage name of John Dela Cruz, a Filipino-Canadian comedian raised in Bulacan who moved to Canada at 17. He began making videos while working as a nurse at a hospital in South Shore, Montreal during the pandemic — simulating nurse-patient situations, singing and dancing to get patients to take their medication — and quit nursing two years in, burnt out. He moved to Los Angeles in 2024 to commit to stand-up; the tour Short-Staffed came directly out of that burnout and has played Canada, Europe, Australia, the Philippines and New Zealand. Forbes listed him among its Top Creators of 2026.
