About
nimino is Milo Evans, a London producer who started on drums at eleven and on a laptop at fifteen. The track that changed everything is “I Only Smoke When I Drink”, made in late 2023, released through Counter Records (the Ninja Tune imprint) in August 2024, and now past 250 million streams, a UK singles chart entry and twenty-odd weeks on Billboard’s dance chart. He has said he knew it would travel the moment it was finished; what took time was the sample — the vocal is Rayana Jay’s 2019 song “Hangover”, and clearing it took about six months. Only three versions of the track ever existed. The sound is house with hip-hop, UK garage and lo-fi in it, patient rather than loud — the comparisons people reach for are Mura Masa and SG Lewis. The Keep Me Awake tour runs through North America and the UK in autumn 2026.
