Missy Higgins is an Australian singer-songwriter from Melbourne, born in 1983, who plays piano and guitar. She arrived with her 2004 debut The Sound of White, whose single "Scar" helped make her one of the country's most successful home-grown artists. Later albums including On a Clear Night (2007) and The Ol' Razzle Dazzle (2012) sustained that success, and songs such as "Steer" and "Where I Stood" became staples. Higgins has won eleven ARIA Music Awards and was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2024, the same year she also took the award for Best Australian Live Act. That honour reflects a warm, deeply personal stage presence honed over two decades of touring.
