Melanie Martinez

Melanie Martinez is an American singer-songwriter, born in 1995 in Astoria, Queens and raised on Long Island to parents of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent. She first drew attention in 2012 on the third season of the US singing competition The Voice, coached by Adam Levine. Her 2015 debut Cry Baby, a concept album fronted by a fairytale-gone-wrong alter ego, reached the Billboard 200 top ten and went double platinum, spawning the certified hits “Dollhouse” and “Pity Party.” The narrative continued through K-12 (2019) and its companion film, and Portals (2023). Known for a doll-like visual world with two-toned hair, Martinez has grown into a sold-out arena headliner, playing consecutive Madison Square Garden nights and topping festival bills.
