Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia, formed in 2000. The lineup of Troy Sanders on bass and vocals, Brent Hinds, Bill Kelliher and Brann Dailor on drums and vocals held unchanged for 24 years. Hinds departed in March 2025 and died five months later in a motorcycle accident in Atlanta.
